KATHLEEN PAAR JONES

After graduation I worked as a secretary at the Bethlehem Steel for four years followed by two years as a secretary at IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie, NY. 

On September 14, 1968, I married Robert Jones (from Slatington) at Muhlenberg College (Egner Chapel); married 48 years.  In September, 1968, we moved to Hyde Park, NY and lived there for 25 years where my husband worked for IBM Corporation before returning to Pennsylvania in 1994.  We have lived in Douglassville, PA for 22 years.

We had three children: William (1970) deceased, Heather (1972) Arizona, and Andrew (1983) New Jersey.  I was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom to our children which I enjoyed and filled with many happy memories and doing things I loved to do. 

After we had our children, I did sub as a secretary at the Hyde Park, NY schools, volunteered at school and church and enjoyed my hobbies, crafts and leisure time, along with going to many of our children’s activities.  At the present time I am involved in church activities; Elder doing home communions, altar guild, prayer team and Bible study. 

Robert and I have done some traveling since he retired about 10 years ago.  We traveled to the British Isles, took a Viking River Cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest, and this past year we went on a Land and Sea Cruise to Alaska.  We also travel to Arizona to see our daughter and travel to national parks in the United States. 

I am also a cancer survivor (twice) in 2001 and 2014.  I was fortunate enough to find out I had cancer when it was in the early stages.
